Unloaders explained

A hybrid self-unloader operates as follows
- The cargo is discharged from the holds into the hoppers on deck by the vessel's own cranes and grabs.
- The hoppers feed the deck belt system, which transfers the cargo onto the boom of up to 80 metres in length, which is slewed to either port or starboard.
- Then the cargo is off-loaded to the shore, either directly onto a stockpile or into a receiving facility.
- Hybrid self-unloaders are also highly suitable for carrying out offshore transloading operations.
